When to Go
Tanzania has a pleasant tropical climate with humidity increasing towards the coast.
There are two rainy seasons; the ‘short rains’ (November to December) and long rains (March to May). During the ‘short rains’ downpours tend to be brief before the sunshine returns. During the ‘long rains’ downpours can last for hours or sometimes even days.
The southern parks are at their best between July and October when they are at their driest and animals congregate at water sources.
