Windhoek, the capital city, is located in the centre of Namibia and is a small and friendly place. Although a modern capital, the architecture still has a strong German colonial influence. It is a city that can easily be explored on foot and visiting the street markets, which are excellent for jewellery, leather and wooden goods, is really interesting. As the hub for international flights, it is a pleasant and relaxed place to spend some time before or after your Namibian adventure.
