great location for:

The Skeleton coast is a stunning wilderness of incomparable beauty and solitude. The strong currents of the South Atlantic and treacherous fogs have left a legacy of rusted shipwrecks and bleached whalebones on the empty beaches. In the dry valleys of the interior, the wildlife is equally unique; this area is home to desert adapted elephant, giraffe and the rare black hyena. Some of the South is accessible by road but much of this remote region can only be reached by light aircraft, where there are just a few eco-friendly lodges. The region is home to the Himba people who still live and dress according to their ancient customs and traditions and a visit here should include time observing and learning how they have managed to survive in this inhospitable area.
