Information

great location for:

The Caprivi Strip is an unusually thin strip of land which juts out from north east Namibia and links the country to Angola, Zambia, and northern Botswana. It is named after the German Chancellor who negotiated a land exchange in the late 19th century, as Germany sought a navigable route to the Indian Ocean. Caprivi is unlike much of Namibia, a lush, green landscape that is paradise for wildlife. It is home to a number of national parks and a significant habitat for the Africa wild dog. There are a number of quality lodges in this area and it is possible to view game by boat or in open vehicles. The area is easily accessible from Livingstone or Kasane and many of the lodges provide trips into nearby Chobe National Park in Botswana.
