South of the Zanzibar Archipelago and lying off the mouth of the Rufiti River, the islands of the Mafia Archipelago offer an undeveloped and relatively undiscovered paradise. The Archipelago consists of Mafia Island, the smaller islands of Chole, Juani and Jibondo, and a number of minor islands and atolls, and is surrounded by one of the world’s richest marine habitats. These sleepy islands of mangroves, sandy beaches, rainforest and tiny villages are magical and receive very few visitors.
