On the savannah plain below the Rwenzori Mountains, the Queen Elizabeth National Park offers excellent wildlife viewing with tree climbing lions on the Ishasha Plains as well as elephant buffalo throughout the park and hippo line the Ishasha River. Plains wildlife includes reedbuck, topi and bushbuck to name a few. Rich birdlife and varied game viewing is offered from a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel which is lovely afternoon activity. Nearby, you can track a fast moving and elusive troop of chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge.
